What you think about the music...

I have been teaching for over 20 years and it has always been my responsibility to choose, practise and perform the annual nativity play.  I have used a wide range of different authors and publishers but I can honestly say that this year's performance of 'Born This Night' was the most pleasurable and stress free of them all.

The clever rhyming script and catchy tunes were all learnt quickly by the children. They loved the opportunity to learn the Makaton signs and this added a new dimension to the final performance. This is the first year that I have not felt the need to adapt the script or add in any extra songs.

Parents commented that this was the best nativity play that we have ever put on, staff enjoyed rather than suffered rehearsals and we had a very complimentary write up in the local newspaper. We hope that Jacob's Ladder Productions is ready with their next nativity play for us to use next Christmas!

Rachel Gavin, Head Teacher - Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Henley-on-Thames

A wonderful Nativity and so beautifully performed by  our children... The children have worked so hard to learn their Makaton signing and words, we are so proud of all they have achieved

Mrs Martin, Headteacher St Pancras School, Suffolk.
Original intention: inclusion of a child with communication needs in our nativity.
Solution: 'Born this night' - crash course in Makaton signing for singing
Result: Fantastic experience for all!

The whole class thoroughly enjoyed the catchy songs with repetitive signs in different songs making them quick to learn. Parents were amazed at the children's enthusiasm to show them new signs they had learned. It certainly added that extra something special to an already unforgettable experience for children and parents. Thank you Rebecca for a truly rewarding nativity, we shall look forward to the next!"

Amanda Williams - Maryvale Catholic Primary School, Kingstanding, Birmingham

"The children, parents and staff loved it'...'a very dignified performance"

Bev Cullen, 'Using Makaton with Singing' Tutor, Forest Arts Centre, Walsall

"Rebecca, the play is beautifully simple - using words the children will understand.
I love all the songs my particular favouties at the moment are Go To Bethlehem and Christmas, Christmas.

Mary Kenny -  Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Small Heath,  Birmingham.

A lovely traditional nativity story suitable for younger children.  The songs were easy to learn and the children enjoyed singing and performing them.  Great feedback from the parents too.

Judy Timmins - St. Joseph's RC Primary, Lichfield
