About Kevin
Kevin has worked with choirs for over forty years. He was the organ scholar at Downing College, Cambridge (1980-83), where he was tutored by Philip Ledger and Peter Hurford, and Hubert Darke (son of Harold) was one of his tenors! He has worked with singers of all ages ever since, including the North Cotswold Chamber Choir, the Oxford Festival of Voices singers and, more recently, the choir at Bluecoat School, Coventry.
Kevin has many interests as a musician and teacher with strengths in performance, improvisation, composition, theory, aural and choral music.
In his fourth year as Director Music at St John Baptist, Berkswell, he has thoroughly enjoyed the weekly challenge!
Kevin’s last ‘Come & Sing’ event was at Oundle School and the music??.... Mozart's Requiem... one for a future event perhaps!

Come and sing Schubert
Come and sing Vivaldi
On Saturday 23rd September 2023, the beautiful church of St. John the Baptist hosted a collection of enthusiastic and talented singers gathered to sing Vivaldi's Gloria. Bathed in autumn sunshine, the picturesque village of Berkswell welcomed 62 people from as far afield as Northampton, Manchester, Wolverhampton and Oxford as well those local to the area to the inaugural 'come and sing' event. Director of Music, Kevin Stannard, guided the newly formed choir through an afternoon of rehearsal, crafting moments of beauty and joy. Stephen Perrins accompanied the choir superbly on the organ and a guest appearance by talented flautist Christ Foster was an absolute delight.
